Geography:
The rock is positioned in front of the Serio stream valley, just on the top of the cliff in front of the Cimbergo castle.

Proximity:

There is a path that connects the rock with other rocks of the area (3, 4, 9) and to the new Deria road.

Geology:

Sandstone outcrop

Surface:

polished, concave surface. Inclination20°, microflora (algae, lichens, mosses) and patina, cracks.

Dimensions:
Length 1.20 m.  Width 0.90 m.

Chronology:

Palaeolithic   Epipalaeolithic - Mesolithic   Neolithic   Copper Age   Bronze Age   Iron Age   Roman   Middle Age   Modern   Unknown
Iron Age (style IV 4; 3rd cent. BC) to Middle Ages (13th cent AD). The Style IV of the Valcamonica Rock art corresponds with the Iron Age and with the beginning of the Roman period. The Style IV has been divided (Fossati) in 5 sub-phases: I (schematic), II (pre-naturalistic), III (naturalistic), IV (decadent), V (final). Each phase finds chronological comparisons between engraved and real objects (mostly metal weapons).

Notes:

Risk:

The rock is subjected to be covered by soil and leaves, due to the fact that is in a oblique position, and to the regrowing of lichens, mosses and algae, due to the humidity.

Conservation:

Good   Quite good   Mediocre   Bad

Intervention:

Originally the engraved surface was partially covered by ground and grass, moss and algae which were removed after the discovery. The rock was cleaned, enlighten and traced in 1987.
