Geography:
En terrenos de Casa de Pí se encuentra el abrigo en unos estratos que afloran del suelo en la vertiente izquierda del Barranco del Sordo, perteneciente a la cuenca hidrográfica del Júcar, siendo el total del recorrido para llegar de unos 20 kms. La zona de pinturas se sitúa en el extremo meridional de este largo abrigo de 28 metros de longitud, alineadas todas, salvo dos grandes cruces en aspa, en el mismo estrato rocoso vertical y de superficie lisa recubierta de pátina de tono claro amarillo-dorado, que se obscurece hacia abajo, ocupando una longitud de dos metros. El abrigo queda protegido por arriba por otro estrato que se hace voladizo, con un saliente máximo de tres metros, ennegrecido por el humo de hogueras y otras formaciones negruzcas de líquenes debidas a la humedad de la roca. Este largo abrigo fue en tiempos utilizado como cerrada de ganado y aún conserva parte de sus muros de piedra. Las pinturas están cerca del suelo, que es llano. Su ambiente es agradable y circundado de pinos de la variedad llamada rodeno. Se sitúa a 960 metros sobre el nivel del mar y su orientación es ESE (105º). El Abrigo del Sordo se encuentra en la Sierra de Enguera al este de Ayora, en las laderas de un barranco rodeado de pinares. Su topología es en largo estrato corrido que emerge del terreno para desaparecer pronto.

EuroPreArt, European Prehistoric Art, is a web-based archaeological project funded by the European Union which aims to establish a lasting data-base of European prehistoric art documentation, to launch the base of an European institutional network and to contribute to the awareness of the diversity and richness of European Prehistoric Art.
