Estas figuras de rectangulos e linhas paralelas foram pintadas em vermelho, cor de vinho e um raro azul muito escuro. Tem também a particularidade de se terem conservado praticamente ao ar livre pois a rocha em que se encontram não é na verdade um verdadeiro abrigo.
Foram para além disso os primeiros exemplos de arte rupestre publicados em Portugal e um dos primeiros no Mundo.
