Geography:
En la Sierra de Tivisa, donde se sitúan los abrigos de la Font Vilella y casi a su misma latitud, unos nueve kilómetros al este, se implantan los abrigos pintados del término de Vandellós: Cova de l'Escoda y Abrigo del Recó d'en Perdigó. Los abrigos se implantan en las barrancadas de Gaseá y en su afluente la de Villiplanes, barrancadas ambas que corren al este de Gavadá y bajando en dirección sur se unen al Taix, para luego y por intermedio del Barranc Fondo, verter sus torrenciales aguas en el Torrente del Pi que directamente desemboca en el Mediterráneo de Atmella de Mar. Torrenteras todas ellas profundas, cubiertas por abundante vegetación boscosa y enmarañada maleza baja, que en algunas zonas como en la vertiente derecha de Villiplanes dificultaba la marcha sobremanera. El paisaje es por estos lugares bello y hasta impresionante por las grandes barrancadas que se forman. La COVA DEL RECO D'EN PERDIGO en el Barranco de Villiplanes a un kilómetro de su confluencia con el anterior, estando ambas cuevas separadas por una distancia como de un kilómetro en línea recta. Emplazado en la vertiente derecha de la corta barrancada de Villiplanes, que fluyendo hacia el barranco de Gaseá lo alcanza unos 200 metros antes de llegar al lugar donde se sitúa la Cova de l'Escoda. Se encuentra el abrigo aproximadamente a un kilómetro de esta confluencia, aguas arriba y en los altos riscos que coronan la citada pendiente muy cerca del estrechamiento que cierra por arriba esta rinconada o Recó d'en Perdigó. Está excavado, como es normal, en la base de grandes roquedos, de más de 25 metros de altura, que forman las cresterías del barranco. Desde su asentamiento se domina el cauce y la amplia entrada que se forma en el torrente de Gaseá, mirando en dirección sur y el pequeño paso que el cauce deja en su parte superior, casi a los pies del abrigo, si miramos en dirección norte, pudiendo apreciarse perfectamente la forma de esta amplia y cerrada rinconada.
