The Rupe Magna is one of the biggest engraved rocks of Europe. It is in the municipality of Grosio (SO-Valtellina-Italy), near to two Medieval Castles. The surface of schist is polished by the glacier and the engravings are executed by percussion and abrasion. We can say that the Rupe Magna is the rock of anthropomorphs (oranti and warriors) and of the cup marks. In fact the most figures are of this kind. There are also some animals (dogs, birds, horses, goats), some meanders, many lines, crosses, U shaped figures. The figures are not so clearly visible because of the geology of the rock; it is possible to see well the engravings with the grazing light artificial or of the sun.
