rive droite de la vallée de la Dronne, s'ouvre perpendiculairement au pied d'une petite falaise. Porche orienté au sud-est.

Proximity:

rivière la Dronne; autres gisements paléolithiques environnants: Abri des Bernous (Solutréen supérieur), Trou de la Chèvre (Aurignacien et Périgordien), Grotte du Pey de l'Azé (Solutréen supérieur), Fourneau du Diable (Périgordien et Solutréen).

calcaire santonien

Les figures synthétiques, en profil strict, sont localisées sur la paroi sud, verticale ; les plus proches de l'entrée sont éclairées par la lumière naturelle. Les gravures sont larges, les traits présentent une section courbe et parfois en V à fond arrondi (nez de l'ours). Utilisation et accentuation du relief naturel (ligne dorsale du mammouth et de l'ours).
