Entrée actuelle ouverte à l'est dans la falaise dominant la rive droite du Célé.

Proximity:

Le confluent du Lot et du Célé se trouve à proximité. Une série d'abris et de grottes ayant livré des vestiges Magdaléniens sont percés dans le même massif.

La grotte comporte deux entrées. Sa topographie est complexe (puits, chatières...). La décoration, répartie dans cinq salles, se concentre sur les 50 premiers mètres du parcours (sur un total de 200 m). Elle comporte un cheval gravé, un bison noir et gravé, et de nombreux signes (angulaires, bâtonnets, grilles, zig-zags, ponctuations).

Les figures sont attribuables au style IV de Leroi-Gourhan (Magdalénien moyen). Les signes en grille sont comparables à ceux de Sainte-Eulalie, où les figures pariétales sont datées de la même époque par l'étude stratigraphique.

Les gravures sont bien conservées par rapport aux peintures, qui ont souffert de la spéléologie sauvage.

Intervention:

Grotte découverte par un spéléologue le 5 octobre 1969. Un inventaire partiel est dressé par J. Clottes en 1973. L'étude est menée par M. Lorblanchet. Le site, classé Monument historique le 7 février 1980, est fermé au public.
