Geography:
Grotte ouverte à l'est dans une falaise qui domine la rive droite du Gave d'Osseau.

Proximity:

 La falaise domine le village d'Arudy ; dans la même vallée sont creusées les grottes de Saint-Michel, Espalungue, Poeymaü, Malarode (occupations magdaléniennes). La commune compte deux autres grottes, dont l'une a fourni des silex taillés comparables à ceux d'Espalungue en 1880.

Geology:
calcaire aptien

Surface:
couverte d'une mince pellicule de calcite, grattée par endroits.

L'entrée, basse, débouche sur une salle oblongue, dont l'extrémité droite se prolonge en une galerie étroite sur une longueur de 15 m environ. L'unique panneau orné (1,1 x 1 m de haut) se trouve à 2,2 m à droite de l'entrée. Quatre figures se distinguent, finement incisées sur la calcite couvrant la paroi: un cheval, deux cercles concentriques, un avant-train de bison et une possible tête d'équidé. La partie supérieure du panneau est badigeonnée d'ocre rouge.

La grotte n'est ni classée ni fermée. L'ocre se lessive peu à peu. La paroi où se trouvent les gravures a été grattée par endroits.

Conservation:

 Good   Quite good   Mediocre   Bad

Intervention:
La grotte est signalée par P. Minvielle en 1970. Les premiers relevés sont effectués par le Groupe archéologique des Pyrénées occidentales en 1980. Aucune fouille officielle n'est connue, mais le sol a été creusé clandestinement.
