Geography:
orienté au sud, s'ouvre au pied du flanc gauche du vallon de Gorge d'Enfer, affluent de la Vézère

Proximity:

 jouxte l'abri du poisson; dans la même falaise s'ouvrent l'abri Pasquet (en aval) et le Grand abri (en amont). Confluence avec la Vézère.

Geology:
calcaire coniacien

Surface:
régularisée sur la face peinte, l'opposée étant abrupte (car détachée de la paroi sous l'effet du gel)

Description:

 Engravings   Paintings   Painted engravings   High or low-relief   Sculpture
fragments calcaires couverts de traces rouges et noires. La dalle, détachée de la paroi sous l'effet du gel, a été cassée lors des fouilles de Lartet, retrouvée dans les déblais et interprétée ensuite par D. Peyroni. Le cas de blocs ornés tombés des parois se retrouve à l'Abri du Facteur à Tursac, Laugerie-Haute, Laussel, Petit-Puyrousseau à Périgueux, de la Souquette à Sergeac.

EuroPreArt, European Prehistoric Art, is a web-based archaeological project funded by the European Union which aims to establish a lasting data-base of European prehistoric art documentation, to launch the base of an European institutional network and to contribute to the awareness of the diversity and richness of European Prehistoric Art.
