Geography: |
The Natural Park of Monfragüe is located in the area were two rivers, Tajo and Tietar, come across, and presents low mountains, ranges with breach and narrow valleys, and some planes. It has a Mediteranean forest, with ilex and bushy vegetation -the most frecuent, cistus-. There is also landscape with eucaliptus, olive groves, and pasture land with ilex and corks. |

028 is located in the southern face of the "Santa Catalina sierra", in its east side, closer to the Tajo river than to the Garganta stream. La Garganta stream, wich flows some km following the base of the sierra direction, take a SE direction 1 km after arrived to the Tajo river. |

The shelter has a craked and oranged surface with yellow lichens in the upper part.The paintings are located 2,30 m from the west end of the site and 1,26 m high, in a small and vertical panel of grewish and smooth surface. |

Sculpture
There are just two figures in this shelter. (Fig. ) Both are red, made with iron oxide, and about 1-1,5 cm thick, painted with the finger. The firsth figure -8,5 cm long, 6 cm width- is formed by three lines: on the left it has a curvilinear line which conects in the upper end with a bar, curved at the bottom to link with another one. The second figure is curvilinear, oval but opened on the left side, and measure10 cm long, 5 cm width.
