La grotte est formée d'une galerie en "trou de serrure", longue d'environ 90 m. Elle comporte de nombreuses gravures, non encore inventoriées, parmi lesquelles on peut citer des chevaux, un bovidé, un possible renne, un bouquetin, plusieurs silhouettes féminines, ainsi que de possibles tracés digitaux calcités. La décoration se répartit sur toute la longueur de la galerie.

Les silhouettes féminines, typiques, permettent une attribution au Magdalénien récent ou final, par comparaison avec celles de Lalinde et Gare-de-Couze en Dordogne, ou plus loin Gönnersdorf en Allemagne. Les sondages prévus devraient permettre de confirmer ou préciser cette attribution.

La grotte, connue de longue date, a été abondamment fréquentée, et les sols ont été piétinés. Les figures semblent protégées par la calcite, qui en masque en même temps la lecture.

Intervention:
Les gravures sont découvertes le 13 octobre 1998 par J. Sentis, et authentifiées rapidement par M. Lorblanchet. Un programme de recherche et d'étude (topographie, relevés, sondages) a été soumis par l'inventeur, M. Barbaza, G. Tosello, C. Fritz et M. Lorblanchet, et aprouvé par la Commission interrégionale de Recherche archéologique.
