Sculpture
Redondo Rock 20, in Capo di Ponte Municipality (BS-I), near the village of Pescarzo, locality name Redondo. Engravings executed by percussion and scratching. Huge vertical surface. Shape rectangular. Engravings are concentrated in the middle part (1,85m x 2,25m), oriented to south-east, positioned near a pasture area and a chest-nut wood. Near the rock there are other vertical surfaces but without engravings. The surface is polished because it is a detachment of rock. The engravings are of: anthropomorphs, animals (dogs, deer, horses, birds), hut, vases, Latin alphabet. They have been executed by pecking and scratching technique. Many anthropomorphic figures are sexuated, male, with weapons. In one case the warriors are duelling. The scratched figures are covered by the pecking figures. The most interesting scratched figures are the daggers and the vases, rare figures in the rock art of Valcamonica. Between the pecking figures there are many warriors, animals, one hut and one trumpet. But the most important figure is a pregnant horse with the little horse in the stomach. This is an unicum in the rock art of the Valley.
