Boglösa 58:IV.Site at the head of a very long and wide valley, leading down to Boglösa, the carvings on the W face with steep slope 45° WSW. There are 28 figures at the locality, 1 ship figure 32 cm long, deeply carved. The site is dominated by the 4 wheel crosses. There are 2 larger ones, 55 and 75 cm diameter, the other pair with diameters of about 35 cm. Each of the larger pair has an internal disc with cross-lines, and, from the disc, spokes run out to the edge of the carving. The smaller pair are unequal, as one has an internal disc and the other has only spokes. The position of these four discs, on a steeply sloped surface gives an impression of wheels leaning against a wall. The cup marks are 4-5 cm diameter, 0.5-1 cm deep. The elongated hollows are 10 x 5-14 x 6 cm and 0.5-1 cm deep.

The Uppland carvings are most north-easterly of the concentrations of south Scandinavian rock art tradition. The rock carvings of Uppland are generally dated to the middle and later part of the Bronze Age, c. 1200-500 BC. Occasionally, more absolute dating of single panels or figures can be made, based on typological or stylistic features of the image, and by comparisons with identifiable objects. Where a carving has the same object shown, or it is in the same style or has the same decoration as other objects dated to the Bronze Age from graves and hoards, then we can begin to apply some dating to the carvings.
