Altitude:

800 m
Open-air   Shelter   Cave Portable   Megalithic

Geography:
Lateral valley of the Oglio river valley. The rock is in front of a waterfall. Dominant. South west exposed. Bushes of yews, birches, chest-nuts, pines.

Proximity:

 Close to an old and abandoned path to the Serio stream.

Geology:
Sandstone outcrop.

Surface:
polished, convex, concave surface. Inclination from 15° to 35°, microflora (algae, lichens, mosses) and patina, cracks.

Dimensions:
Length 4.50 m.  Width 3.20 m.

Risk:
The rock is subjected to be covered by soil and leaves, due to the fact that is in a oblique position, and to the regrowing of lichens, mosses and algae, due to the humidity.

Conservation:

 Good   Quite good   Mediocre   Bad

Intervention:
Originally the engraved surface was partially covered by ground and grass, moss and algae which were removed after the discovery. The rock was cleaned and traced in 1998.

EuroPreArt, European Prehistoric Art, is a web-based archaeological project funded by the European Union which aims to establish a lasting data-base of European prehistoric art documentation, to launch the base of an European institutional network and to contribute to the awareness of the diversity and richness of European Prehistoric Art.
