Description: Flatruet, Tännäs parish, Härjedalen. The painting at Flatruet consists of c. 20 animal figures. Mostly elks but at least one reindeer and one bear are represented. Furthermore, there are 5 stylised human figures with raised arms, adorating position, and there are also a number of strokes/lines and some paintstains.

Description: Norrfors, Umeå parish. The locality is situated at a small island in the Umeå river, the island is only 17 x 12 m. The total number of figures are 60, and there are 6 panels. The dominating figure is the elk with 28 depictions, contour-carved and are depicted with heart, ribs and so called "life-lines" indicated. Panel 1: There are 4 ship figures, of which 3 have vertical lines, frame, and 1 is very fragmentary with a stylised elks-head in the prow. There are 8 elks, different in style often superimposed, and 2 human figures. Panel 2: 2 elks, simple in style turned with the backs opposite each other. One has a spear-like line through the shoulder in the body. Panel 3: 4 distinct elks organised in some kind of composition, the images are very complicated and gives an impression of verve and spirit, an unusual feature at Norrfors. There are also a number of obscure figures. Panel 4: 11 elks, 1 human figure, 1 bird and 1 wheel cross arranged in a uniting way. All the elks are depicted with heads turned in the same direction except one. One superimposition, the wheel cross touches one of the elks. Panel 5 & 6: 1 resp. 2 figures depicted separated from the other panels.

Description: Drottninghall, V. Karup parish, Scania. About 120 figures distributed over 4 panels. The dominating motif is the totally carved out foot print and the cup mark. Some of the cup marks have been carved into elongated hollows. The characteristics of the figures, the technique and the area of distribution are totally divergent from that of the traditional rock carvings. The Scanian figures compose a rock carving tradition of their own.

Description: Vårfrukyrka 284. Situated on an irregular rock surface, at the W edge of major ridge. There are about 25 figures, Y-shaped or stemmed arcs. They can also be seen as the horns of cattle or as representations of humans with upraised arm. About half of the figures have a small "dot" knocked from the rock between the arms, perhaps therefore a head. The figures are reminiscent of representations of stylised bulls, seen from above, at Val Fontanalba, Alpes Maritimes (see Glob 1969:138 for photo).

Description: The locality of Nämforsen consists of three islands, Notön, Laxön and Brådön. The majority of the carvings are found on Brådön and Notön, and together there are more than 1700 figures. Notön has the largest number of engravings, c. 800 figures and Brådön c. 400. The dominant motif is the elk, of which half the number are depicted totally carved out. The other half are contour-carved. Some of the elks are only partly carved out. Most of the ship figures are single-lined with crew-strokes. Other ships are double-lined with vertical lines in the hull. The elk figures with contour-carved bodies sometimes have so called life-lines inside the body, probably showing the heart and lungs of the animal.

Description: Ekenberg, panel no 7, Östra Eneby parish. The total number of figures at the Ekenberg locality are c. 399. The panels are very smooth, and the majority of the carvings are found in the S part of the rock. There are about 113 ship figures, half the number are totally carved out and the other are contour-carved, double-lined with short crew strokes. Some of the ship figures have rich ornamental details in the hulls, and elaborately decorated prows. There are more than 70 human figures and c. 50 animal figures (horse and deer). Most famous are the 26 weapon figures, the majority consists of totally carved out swords in natural size. There are a number of scenes: ship figures drawn by horses, hunting scenes, human figures onboard ships, a long procession and a man holding a double spiral over the head, like a decorated disk or shield. Notable is that the framed figures are lacking at Ekenberg, they are typical to the carvings in the Norrköping area. It is also notable that there are only 28 cup marks at the locality.

Description: Himmelstadlund, Östra Eneby parish. A total number of 1659 registered figures on 57 panels. The ship is the most dominating motif with a total number of 622 figures. One third of these are totally carved out, and others are contour-carved with crew strokes. Decoration in the hull exist especially in the W part of the locality. On some of the ships there are human figures and also tree-figures. There are 59 human figures, small and totally carved out, often depicted together with animals, spear, chariot, or on a ship. The total number of animal figures are 259, often small in size and totally carved out. Possibly depicying pigs. They are depicted in groups as the famous hoard on the NW major panel. There is also a possible human figure among these pigs, equipped with a spear or it is a shepherd with his stick. There is a distinct hunting scene with spear carrier, dogs and an oversized boar. Furthermore are horses represented and also goats. There is a total number of 33 weapon figures of which 13 are spears. There are 30 axe figures, the majority deeply carved out. There are 7 framed figures, a design specific for the province of Östergötland. The largest one is found in the NW part of the locality, and is decorated and is carried by 2 small human figures on a long pole, perhaps a spear. The symbolic designs are showing a rich variety of types, there are 47 wheel crosses, 17 circle figures and 92 foot prints, of which 19 placed in pairs. Unique is the 22 m row of paw prints, 25 in number, originally more. The stamps give an impression of a bear walking across the rock. The cup marks are relatively few in number, approximately 245 and spread out over the locality. In some cases there are younger figures carved above the older ones, for example totally carved out ship figures are superimposed by contour-carved ship figures, spears and animal figures.

Description: Leonardsberg, Östra Eneby parish. Panel 1: There are a total number of c. 118 registered figures at the panel. There are 36 ship figures, both contour-carved and totally carved out, of which some have superstructures. There are c. 20 human figures, of which the majority are arranged in three distinct processions, some equipped with sword. There are 7 animal figures, of which one is a distinct deer, and three have ring-shaped heads (cattle?). There are a couple of foot prints, and cup marks. Panel 2: 120 m SE of panel no 1, there is a flat rock with some interesting carvings. There are 5 ship figures varying from very small up to quite big, of which some are double-lined without crew-strokes, and one totally carved out with 2 vertical lines (2 man crew). There are a number of deers, c. 4, with elaborate antlers, some figures which might be horses or female deer. There are 3 foot prints, contour-carved , of which one has a cup marked in the middle. One human figure is depicted close to, or attached with a ship. The most spectacular figure at panel 2 is the big human figure, 0.7 m high, with rectangular body, curved legs, equipped with sword and with a long spear lifted over the head. Between the legs are a dot or line indicating the sex of the figure.
