A 1ª investigação do monumento deve-se a D. Domingos de Pinho Brandão por volta dos anos cinquenta, embora o monumento já fosse do conhecimento das populações locais. Algumas notas de caracter geral do trabalho efectuado encontram-se no jornal regional "Defesa de Arouca". O espólio recolhido encontra-se á guarda do Museu do Seminário Maior do Porto. |
